Ribbons

One of the Dungbeetle's Grizzly poems for 2013.

Running out of time
and running to stand still
up and down the climbs
until, - until we can run no more
until we find ourselves
upon the homeward shore.

Running with our comrades
and running with our shadows
through desert and through shade
until, - until we can run no more
until we face surrender,
our tryst with Nature's Law.

Running with our Joy
and running with our Peace
our strategies deployed
until, - until we can run no more
until, upon our knees
we know the meaning of release.

Running through the storm
and running on the beach
as angels on the wing
until, - until we can run no more
until we reach the zenith
where the dusk becomes the dawn,
and the spirits dance and sing.

Running is our game
and running is our name
we do the Grizzly run
and the Grizzly run does us
until, - until we can run no more
until the sun goes down
upon that pearly, Grizzly shore.
