Grid

The Bard of Beer's Grizzly song for 2002, to the tune of Grid.

I saw the rain and the clouds on the eve of the Grizzly.
I saw my shoes - no studs could I find.
I wore new road shoes,
They were to fail me - I raced, and went out of my mind.
Why, why, why the Grizzly? Run, run, run the Grizzly.
I couldn't see my shoes were no good for me.
I should have tried tested and bought some grid Saucony.

At Grizzly Race day as we ran on the Way, I was smiling.
I felt the sun on my head - saw blue summer skies.
I stood there laughing,
But soon the black mud on my shoes, brought tears to my eyes.
Why, why, why the Grizzly? Run, run, run the Grizzly.
I could see my shoes were no good for me.
I should have tried tested and bought some grid Saucony

At Beer farms and lanes where the mud sticks and stains I was sliding.
On slopes wet with rain where the sheep stand and stare
I went down.
I wasn't laughing
I cried rolled and fell- lost my shoes had mud in my hair.
Why, why, why the Grizzly? Run, run, run the Grizzly.
So, before, I could see and open that door
I had to stop and give up I just couldn't take any more.
I had to stop and give up I just couldn't take any more.
