Grizzly Mar'lane

The Bard of Beer's Grizzly song for 2003.

Underneath the lamplight, racing through my mind,
Thoughts returned to home and the wife I'd left behind.
'Twas there that you whispered, tenderly,
"Now please leave me,
It has to be:
The Grizzly in the moonlight
My own Grizzly Mar'lane."

"Time will come to run dear, time for us to part,
Wife I'll take your Christmas gift to monitor my heart.
Then 'neath the far off seaside sky,
With moon up high,
I now must try:
The Grizzly in the moonlight
My own Grizzly Mar'lane."

Orders came for starting, somewhere over there,
Red fluorescent running and sounds of Grizzly bear
I needed you there to call my name,
To play my game,
It's not the same:
The Grizzly in the moonlight
My own Grizzly Mar'lane."

Resting in the dark fields, underneath the trees,
Black holes, mud and slurry, had brought me to my knees.
I wait where the moonlight softly gleams,
And now it seems,
Will haunt my dreams:
The Grizzly in the moonlight
My own Grizzly Mar'lane."
