The Wild Grizzly

The Bard of Beer's Grizzly song for 2004, to the tune of The Wild Rover.

I've run the wild grizzly for many's the year
I've spent all me money on entries and gear.
But now I'm not happy my hearts broken sure
And I never will run the wild grizzly no more.

And it's no, nay, never,
No, nay never no more
Will I run the wild grizzly
No never no more

I logged on my p.c. for Grid Saucony
And I said they were simply the best shoes for me
There was Nike and Brooks Beast and Puma by the score
But my Saucony Grid shoes weren't there anymore.

And it's no, nay, never,
No, nay never no more
Will I run the wild grizzly
No never no more

I went to the sport shop with Visa in hand
And hoped the young lady would just understand
I begged her for Saucony, she answered me nay
Last twenty pairs ordered were sold yesterday.

And it's no, nay, never,
No, nay never no more
Will I run the wild grizzly
No never no more

I'll go back to my fam'ly confess what I've done
How I'm left without Saucony so I cannot run
And when they've pitied me as never before
I never will run the wild grizzly no more

And it's no, nay, never,
No, nay never no more
Will I run the wild grizzly
No never no more
