Dartmoor Volcano

The Dartmoor VOLCANO race was the first race of the OuterEdge race series. Now it’s back for an eighth time!
It’s a 10.5-mile, 100% trail race over rough Moorland tracks and trails, with almost 650m of ascent.
The high-level route touches southern Dartmoor’s highest point, Ryder’s Hill (515m), and traverses rocky, boggy, and sometimes extremely ‘technical’ terrain. With the focal point of the Race…..the Red Lake Volcano visible from miles around.
The Dartmoor Volcano Race is Dartmoor’s premier fell race and has become a classic since its inauguration in 2015.
The Race includes:
- 3 river crossings
- 1 Clapper Bridge crossing
- 2 Bogs
- 1 Volcano ascent
- 1 long uphill start
- 1 long downhill finish
